People who thrive in work and life look forward to Mondays. Some call them freaks, lunatics… because, well… they kind of are.
How often do you have Monday mornings where you hit the snooze 1, 2, maybe even 3 times before your limp, non-cooperating body slinks off of the bed?
I used to do that all the time. It seemed the clock’s hands were always pointing in the direction of activities that didn’t excite me.
Then I reflected on the mornings when I got up before my alarm even had the chance to interrupt my dreams.
We’ve all had those moments… when we wake up revving to get the day started.
So if we know it’s possible, what are a few things we can try to have them happen more often?
- FILL MONDAY WITH THE RIGHT ACTIVITIES. Fill the day with things you actually look forward to. Look at your calendar right now. Is it filled with meetings you don’t care about? Is there a way for you to schedule activities that excite you?
- FIND VALUE IN WHATEVER YOU DO. In whatever you have going on during your day, find something within it all that you find valuable.. make the mundane an adventure.. focus on helping others. For example: I am at work from about 6am-4pm during the weekdays… that’s a HUGE chunk of my life. I sure as hell better be enjoying myself right? I’ve found I look forward to the opportunity to coach and support my team members… to help them have a more fulfilling job overall.
- ENJOY YOUR WEEKENDS. Spend the weekend doing things you love with people you care about. That way, when Monday comes around, you don’t feel like you’re missing out.
